Inclined slab concrete stair

  • A concrete stair which spans between landings .
  • Where there are load bearing walls around the stair , it is generally economic to :
  1. Build the landings into the side walls as one-way spanning slabs .
  2. Construct the flights as inclined slabs between the landings .
  • Suitable for used where the enclosing walls are of brick or block .
  • It would involve a great deal of wasteful cutting of bricks or blocks as :
  1. The flights are to be built into the walls
  2. The bricks or blocks are cut to fit to the steps .
