Angle blocks and brackets

  • Angle blocks are glued in the internal angles between the underside of treads and risers , and underside of treads and risers and strings . 
  • Angle glue blocks are triangular sections of softwood cur from square timber . 
  • Purpose is to strengthen the right-angled joints between treads , risers and strings . 
  • THe flight can be given extra rigidity by using triangular brackets placed under the steps on the centreline of the flight .
