Joining risers to treads

  • 3 methds to joints risers to treads :
  1. Butt joint 
  2. Rebate joint 
  3. Housing joint 
  • Secure the treads to the risers with screws . 
  1. To prevent rsers comes out of treads as tread tends to bend under people weight . 
Nosing on treads 
  • Usually projects 32mm from the face of the riser below . 
  • Nosing is rounded for appearance and safety purpose  . 
  • Usual finishes to nosings :
  1. Square nosing 
  2. Splayed nosing 
  3. ROunded nosing  .
