- calcium chloride ( most common ) , calcium formate
- Increase rate of setting and hardening
- High heat evolution
- Use in winter and rapid removal of formwork
- Adverse effect : increase drying shrinkage reduce resistance to sulphate attack , >2% calcium chloride > corrosion of rebar
