Climate Types

The 4 general climate types are

  1. Warm humid climate ( example Malaysia )
  2. Hot dry climate ( example Middle East )
  3. Cold climate ( example Artic )
  4. Temperate or Moderate climate ( example England )

  • Hot & dry
-Overheating for most of the years
- Dry air allows evaporation
- Temperature ranges = -10celcius to 45 celcius
- High radiation
-Strong Wind

  • Warm & humid
- Overhating for most of the year
- Temperature often above 20 celcius
- Mean relative humidity around 80%
-Humid air inhibits cooling
- High rainfall in certain months
- Substantial cloud cover
- Frequent periods of fog ( thick clouds of water droplets )
- Heavt dew ( condensed water formed on cold surfaces at night . )

  • Cold
- Excessive heat loss for most of year
- Minimum temperature below -15 celcius .
  • Temperate
- Excessive heat loss for part of the year .
-Inadequate heat loss for part of the year .
-Temperature ranges : - 30 celcius to 30 celcius
- Precipitation possible in all seasons .
