Change of Use of BUildings

• Buildings for normally deisgned for a specific use .
• During the design stage , the designers will make provision for that use only . These provisions may be for space layout , floor loading requirements , acoustic standard thermal transmission & type of finishes  , services , fittings & equipment .
• Alteration or change of use by the owners or users without the designer's knowledge will affect the rate of building deterioration & sometimtes failure . (sampong department Store's colllapse  , South Korea ( 1995) .
